Ramen Stop
Overview:
Client wanted a static website blog about eating ramen in NYC. The website would have reviews of various types of ramen tasted around the city. A bit of Javascript and jQuery was also implemented into the website.
Process:
To develop a website about my different ramen dining experiences I had to plan the layout first by creating a sitemap. I then sketched out some wireframes and made a digital version of it as a guide for where I want things to appear when I begin coding. Additionally, I designed various logos as a way to help figure out the colors and identity of the site.
Design and Code:
I designed the website to have a modern and minimal look where the main focus of the site was the ramen shops that I visited. The look and feel of the website were largely related to the design and colors of the logo. The basic function of the site is one where a user will click on a photograph from the grid of images which will then bring you to a page where I reviewed a specific ramen shop. Reviews mainly consist of my opinion of the ramen I ate and some photographs I have taken there.
After coding the first version of the website I decided that there needed to be some changes in terms of design. The type was very difficult to read for both the heading text and the body. I changed the type to one similar to my logo and had more weight so that it could be easy to read. In addition, I wanted my website to be responsive, so I coded it to be more mobile-friendly.
